NAC OOSTVAARDERSPLASSEN
The NAC Oostvaardersplassen visitorcenter was designed in 2009 in collaboration with Sabine Geerlings landschapsarchitectuur. The objective was to implement a visitorcenter in the protected landscape that allows to watch the wildlife without bothering it. Furthermore the connection of the Oostvaardersveld with the Oostvaardersplas had to be defined. In our approach we create a main spine to the area by defining a walking path on height that cuts through the landscape but touches it barely. Approaching the visitorcentre the path gets lower, until it ends in the building that is situated almost hidden dug in the ground.
